Our Partnership with Mayo Hospital Lahore
Since 2021, ARPD and HHCS have partnered with Mayo Hospital Lahore, one of Punjab's largest and most historic healthcare institutions, to extend specialized rehabilitation to patients across the province. Under a formal MOU, ARPD provides free custom prosthetic limbs, orthotic devices, and mobility aids to patients. In 2026, the partnership was renewed and expanded to add a dedicated Cerebral Palsy Centre alongside the existing Prosthetics & Orthotics Centre. Together, these form the HHCS–ARPD Rehabilitation Department at Mayo Hospital — bringing coordinated, multidisciplinary care under one roof.
Our specialized centres at Mayo Hospital provide coordinated, multidisciplinary care:
The Prosthetics & Orthotics Centre specializes in the assessment, custom fitting, and rehabilitation of patients with limb loss and mobility impairments, with a primary focus on custom prosthetic limbs. Patients first receive consultation and evaluation at Mayo Hospital, where measurements and design needs are carefully assessed; custom limbs are then fabricated by skilled technicians at ARPD's Orthopedic Workshop in Peshawar before returning for final fitting, gait training, and rehabilitation. The centre also provides orthotic solutions such as KAFOs, braces, and splints alongside hands-on patient and caregiver training — every step offered entirely free of charge to patients across Punjab.
Inaugurated in April 2026, the Cerebral Palsy Centre is the first dedicated cerebral palsy unit in Mayo Hospital's history and a pioneering program for the province. It offers specialized rehabilitation for children living with cerebral palsy, including physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and individualized assessment and care planning, alongside structured family training. The centre reflects a shared belief between ARPD and Mayo Hospital that early diagnosis and consistent, coordinated therapy transform outcomes for CP patients — bringing continuous, specialized support to families who previously had no access to it.
