ARPD achieved one more milestone to establish a free inclusive school “ARPD Inclusive School System”. We are proud of what we have so far achieved as a community and we are excited and committed to continuously further develop the program and continuing our work in the future. So far we have enrolled 121 students.
The main objective of ARPD Inclusive School System is that all students in a school, regardless of their strengths and their weaknesses, become part of the school community. Every student with or without disability develops a feeling of belonging with other students, teachers, and support staff, irrespective of ability. ARPD Inclusive School System creating a model inclusive environment where diversity is valued and children with vast differences learn together and bringing about attitudinal changes in the educational community.
Inclusion does not merely mean the settlement of students with disabilities in general education classes. This process must incorporate essential change in the way a school community supports and addresses the individual needs of each child. As such, effective models of inclusive education not only benefit students with disabilities but also make an environment in which every student, including those who do not have disabilities, has the opportunity to flourish. All over the world, children are excluded from schools where they belong because of disability, race, language, religion, poverty and gender.
We believe that every child has the right to be supported by their parents and community to grow, learn, and develop in the early years, and, upon reaching school age, to go to schools and be welcomed and involved by teachers alike. When all children, unrelatedly of their differences, are educated together, everyone benefits—this is the foundation of inclusive education.
