Vocational Skills Center

At the RCPD’s Skill Development Center we provide different kinds of vocational trainings, the following
skills are cutting, sewing, hand embroidery, Machine and Hand Knitting and beauty Clinic. Tools have
been provided to needy Persons with Disabilities after successful completion of trainings.

Beauty Parlor

On January 20, 2018, ARPD opened a beauty parlor for PWDs at RCPD Peshawar. The aim behind the
parlor is to teach free beautician courses to women with disabilities in order to empower them
financially. After learning skills from Special Beauty Parlor, they will be able to open their own beauty
parlors at their doorsteps and will earn their living with dignity.

Awareness Event

Association for Rehabilitation of the Physically Disabled (ARPD) organized a “Musical Concert for
Physically Challenged People” on November 04, 2020, in collaboration with International Women Club
at PC Peshawar. The ultimate aim of this awareness and a musical concert was to provide people with a
well-rounded education about the issues of People with Disabilities. Through this event, ARPD tried to
sensitize the society to accept them with dignity & respect and treat them as normal human beings
despite their physical disabilities. NBP Regional Head of Islamic Banking KP, Saima Rahim was the Chief
Guest of the event. President of
ARPD Anjum Anwar, Managing Director of ARPD Dr. Umar Ayub Khan was also present at the occasion.
Moreover; Shumail Ahmad Butt, Advocate General and Chairman of Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Lt
Gen (R) Muhammad Hamid Khan were guests of honor.

Awareness Workshop on Mental Health

Two days awareness workshop on “Mental Health First Aid” was organized at Rehabilitation Center for
the Physically Disabled Peshawar on 10th and 11thApril 2020.The workshop was attended by students
of different universities, faculty, and management of ARPD. At the end of the training session, Waseem
Saleem distributed certificates among participants.

One-day Awareness Workshop

One-day awareness workshop on Health and Hygiene was held on December 31, 2020, at RCPD
Peshawar. It was organized by ARPD Inclusive School System in collaboration with WSSP Peshawar.
Various demonstrations and lectures were given by trainers on the importance of cleanliness. The whole
program was in a participative mode, school students were made to do a Mock session on existing
practices of cleaning the house, outside house, personal hygiene maintained, water hygiene and food
hygiene. They also demonstrated the techniques of purifying water at the household.

Awareness Workshop on Breast Cancer

HHCS/ARPD successfully conducted a Breast Cancer workshop on September 22, 2020, at HHCS Peshawar. The workshop highlighted the facts regarding breast cancer and the educational needs of breast cancer patients. Women from all walks of life participated in the workshop. The workshop was attended by MPA Ms. Rabia Basri, Ms. Asia Khan, and Ms. Nasreen Khattak.

Comprehensive Rehab Program

Located in Peshawar Pakistan, this center provides free services to the physically disabled. It Provides physiotherapy for stroke, polio, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy, and bomb blast victims. Moreover, RCPD provides counseling as well as artificial limbs and walking aids. Not only do we rehabilitate them physically, but also empower them financially by teaching them various skills. We hold disability prevention and disability awareness camps and seminars. Under the social inclusion concept, we arrange activities (picnics, sightseeing tours, social gatherings, sport activities, educational seminars) for persons with disability who don’t have resources to get out of their homes. RCPD’s daily OPD timings are 08:00 am to 04:00 pm (Monday to Saturday).

Orthopaedic Workshop in ARPD Peshawar

We believe that each individual is unique, deserving tailored individualized care to allow them to return to active lifestyles. We specialize in fitting the ‘hard to fit individual’ and aim to ensure that superior care is provided. The Prosthetic and Orthotic workshop of ARPD has manufactured and delivered appliances to several patients so far, including the upper and lower limb prosthesis, splints, braces, orthopedic shoes, etc. The silicon items, Hyperextension, and limbo- sacral corset have also been shown good response as these items are delivered to patients.

More than 400 patients given FREE treatment in Karak Camp

Association for Rehabilitation of the Physically Disabled – ARPD in collaboration with local Rehabilitation organization, on September 30th held a free Physiotherapy and Medical camp at Zamindar House, Official Colony Karak.
According to the registered data more than 400 patients were given free treatment and medicine while the specialist Physiotherapists, Speech Therapists, and Doctors personally examined the patients in the daylong activity.
ARPD President Ms. Anjum Anwar said that in outreach camps we provide free medical diagnoses, treatment, and care to the poor and needy people at their doorsteps. Here in Karak, four hundred patients were examined and free of cast medicine were provided to them.
She added that today we provided huge services to the poor people of the area where four hundred patients were examined and free of cast medicine were provided to them. We have also plan for more free Physiotherapy and medical camps to be held in the different remote areas of the region in the future.
A visiting team of journalists said that the free Physiotherapy and medical camp was aimed to provide medical facilities to the people of the remote areas at their doorsteps and added that such camps will help to provide awareness of disability and reduce the different diseases in the area.
Meanwhile, local people of the area highly appreciated the efforts of ARPD for organizing such Physiotherapy and medical camps in the area and said that free camps would reduce the health problems of the people of the region.

Free multidisciplinary camp in tribal district Bajaur

Association for Rehabilitation of the Physically Disabled – ARPD successfully organized free Physiotherapy and Medical camp in Tribal District Bajaur. The free camp took place in DC Jirga Hall Bajaur Khar from 09am to 04pm on September 17th, 2020. A team of Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Medical Specialists, and P & O’s assisted more than 700 patients and provided free medicines to patients. Deputy Commissioner Bajaur Fayaz Khan Sherpao also visited Free Physiotherapy and Medical camp to Welcome the ARPD team in Bajaur. This is the first time to saw such a big Free Physiotherapy and Medical camp in Bajaur Khar in my service as Deputy Commissioner Bajaur” Said DC Fayaz. He also awarded all the team members of ARPD with appreciation letters and assured support in the future.
